Manny Essien joined BFG Financial Advisors in June 2020 as a client service associate, after spending his final college semester as an intern in the client service department. He transitioned to an associate within our advisory team in 2022 and became an advisor in 2025.

Manny sought a career in financial planning after noticing a general lack of financial literacy within his community.  He now hopes to use his position to educate himself further, as well as help the firm in its efforts to spread financial literacy to the masses.

Manny earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus in finance and a minor in information systems from Stevenson University. While getting his degree, Manny worked hard both in the classroom and on the football field as an offensive lineman and team captain.

Manny remains actively involved with his alma mater. In 2025, he was recognized with Stevenson’s Distinguished Young Alumni Award. Manny serves on the Stevenson Alumni Association and the Brown School of Business and Leadership Advisory Board.

Manny is a member of the Leadership Maryland Emerging Leaders class of 2024 and remains involved with the organization by serving on the Alumni Engagement Committee.

Manny holds his FINRA Series 7 (General Securities Representative), Series 66 (Uniform Combined State Law Exam), and Maryland Life and Health Insurance licenses. In 2023, he earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designation.

When not in the office, Manny can be found watching and playing sports and exploring everything Baltimore has to offer.
