Jason Harmon, CFP®, joined BFG Financial Advisors in January 2026 as an advisor with more than 19 years of experience in the financial services industry, the last 10 of which were spent as an associate advisor with a firm in Durham, NC.

Jason graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in economics. Upon graduation, he started working with the North Carolina State Employees’ Credit Union, where he developed a passion for delivering financial literacy advice, especially to those who are underserved. It was this passion that led him to pursue a career in the financial planning industry, and in 2011, he obtained his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® Practitioner designation. He also holds his FINRA Series 7 (General Securities Representative), Series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent), and North Carolina State Life and Health Insurance Licenses.

Outside of the office, Jason enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, summer beach trips, watching any and all sports (but especially UNC!), golf, and reading.
