We're Hiring a Bookkeeper!

The BFG team is looking for an experienced bookkeeper to join our ranks. 
 

Essential Functions and Duties:

Firm Financial Management:

  • Understands and tracks company expenses and makes cost conscious decisions when approving purchases
  • Processes advisor & insurance compensation on a weekly basis
  • Enter bank and loan transactions into QBO
  • Manually upload credit card transactions into QBO and appropriately categorize per budget
  • Manages invoices through Bill.com to schedule vendor payments
  • File Maryland Sales and Use tax as needed
  • Works with the Executive Council to prepare budget for the upcoming year and prepares financial reports
  • Maintain firm’s asset appreciation schedule
Maintain Office & Firm Compliance:
  • Ensures firm records and files are maintained in a condition to satisfy any government audits
  • Work with the firm’s CPA in preparation for annual tax filing and as needed throughout the year
 

Human Resources:

  • Be the liaison between firm and payroll company
  • Reconcile weekly deposits, coordinate transfers between bank accounts and communicate to Executive Council weekly financial activity.
  • Responsible for running payroll to include hourly workers, bonuses, reimbursements
  • Prepare 401(k) transmittal sheet twice a month and annual profit share contributions
  • Be the firms’ HSA admin
  • Open and monitor out of state payroll accounts
  • Works with the Executive Council to prepare employee’s individual annual compensation plans
 

Misc. Operations:

  • Attends all team meetings & retreats, including the annual planning summit.
  • Implements a Plan of Work annually, and/or if your position evolves
  • Supports the COO and works closely with Director of Operations on a variety of projects
 

Experience/Education:

  • College degree or equivalent experience
  • Proficient in Excel and Quickbooks Online
  • CPA preferred, but not required
