Joel Keels has been with KCI Technologies Inc. since 1999 – He has held positions with KCI beginning as a field Construction Manager, and progressing to his current role as Vice President – Professional Services / Mid-Atlantic Region.  He is highly skilled in engineering project management, construction project management, organizational leadership and team building within fast-paced, technical environments.  He also leads the internal KCI project management training and certification program.  He received a Bachelor of Science degree in General Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy, and a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering (Construction Management) from the University of Maryland, College Park.  He is a Certified Construction Manager (CCM) through the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA), and has served on the Board – and as Chair – of the CMAA Foundation.  He is a 2015 graduate of Leadership Maryland.  

Joel served in the Civil Engineer Corps (CEC) of the U.S. Navy.  Deployments included Honduras, and Thailand, as well as Bahrain and Saudi Arabia in support of Operation Desert Shield.  He was proud to serve as an Adult Leader throughout his son’s Boy Scout journey to earning the Eagle Scout rank.  It always makes his day to spend time with his daughter, and hear about her latest project in gardening, cooking, or just spending time at the horse barn.  Joel is the on-call/low-fee handyman for his wife Ronnie’s business, Red Barn Boutique gift shop, in Hanover PA.  He is also a 4th Dan (World Taekwondo – Kukkiwon, South Korea) Black Belt/Master Instructor in Tae Kwon Do, and has instructed at the York City YMCA for 10 years.  He enjoys woodworking, kayaking/fishing, cooking, working in his yard/garden, and spending all the time he can with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
