Yanni Niebuhr Wins 2025 Kestra Ascend Next Gen Advisor Award

BFG Financial Advisors is proud to announce that Yanni Niebuhr, CFP®, Chief Investment Officer, has been named the recipient of the 2025 Kestra Ascend NextGen Advisor Award. This award recognizes exceptional emerging leaders under the age of 40 who demonstrate outstanding leadership, dedication, and innovation within the wealth management industry.

Niebuhr earned this award based on his 14-year career with BFG Financial Advisors, where he began as an intern in 2011 and has risen to be a principal shareholder and C-suite executive. As a leader in the company, he has played an integral role in expanding financial planning accessibility, fostering corporate financial wellness, and leading community initiatives.

Niebuhr spearheaded BFG’s Financial Planning For All program, ensuring that financial guidance is accessible to families regardless of their financial situation. He has also been a driving force behind the firm’s Corporate Financial Wellness initiative, empowering employees across industries with financial literacy and confidence while also fostering professional growth among BFG’s advisors.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Niebuhr is committed to leadership development and community service. He is a graduate of the Leadership Maryland Executive Program and serves as a Board Member of LET’S GO, supporting STEM education for under-resourced schools and inspiring students to pursue future career opportunities.

“As a long-time advisor and shareholder at BFG, Yanni’s accomplishments have consistently contributed to the overall success of the firm and our team,” said Eric Brotman, CFP®, CEO of BFG Financial Advisors. “He is a visionary in our industry and a leader in our organization, and we are pleased and excited to celebrate this award with him.”

The Ascend NextGen Advisor award was given by Kestra Financial and is not based on an independent third-party ranking or industry evaluation. It reflects emerging leaders’ professional achievements within their firm and does not constitute an objective measure of investment performance. Niebuhr and the BFG team were presented the award at the 2025 Kestra Ascend Advisor Conference, along with a donation to the winner’s organization of choice, Junior Achievement of Central Maryland.
