At BFG Financial Advisors, we believe education has the power to shape future leaders. That’s why we were honored to sponsor the Award for Excellence in Women’s History at Maryland History Day, recognizing students whose work highlighted the remarkable contributions women have made throughout history.
Maryland History Day is more than an academic competition—it’s an opportunity for students to develop research skills, think critically, and tell compelling stories about the people and events that have shaped our world. Through months of research, analysis, and presentation, participants gain a deeper appreciation for history while building confidence in their ability to communicate complex ideas.
Watching students present their projects was both inspiring and encouraging. Their curiosity, preparation, and passion were evident in every exhibit, documentary, performance, paper, and presentation. It was clear that each participant had invested countless hours exploring historical topics and uncovering the stories that deserve to be remembered.
As a firm that values education, leadership, and lifelong learning, BFG was especially proud to support an award recognizing excellence in women’s history. Celebrating the achievements, resilience, and leadership of women throughout history helps ensure their stories continue to inspire future generations while encouraging students to examine history through diverse perspectives.
Our CEO, Lena Nebel, had the privilege of presenting the Award for Excellence in Women’s History to this year’s deserving recipient. It was a meaningful moment that reflected BFG’s commitment to supporting educational initiatives that encourage curiosity, recognize achievement, and invest in the leaders of tomorrow.
We extend our congratulations to every student who participated, the dedicated educators who guided them throughout the process, and Maryland Humanities for continuing to make Maryland History Day such an impactful experience. Their commitment to fostering historical understanding and civic engagement creates opportunities for young people to grow as researchers, storytellers, and informed citizens.
At BFG, we know that investing in education means investing in the future. We are proud to support programs like Maryland History Day that inspire young minds, celebrate important stories, and encourage the next generation to ask thoughtful questions, seek meaningful answers, and make their own mark on history.
