Raising Funds and Awareness on the Dance Floor

A Note from Amanda Pancake, Director of Community Impact:

We want to extend our sincere thank you to our clients, friends, and everyone who supported Lena in her efforts to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association® as one of the ten dancers in the annual Memory Ball. She raised nearly $185,000, contributing to an incredible overall fundraising total of $1.3 million dollars!

We shared Lena’s mission with our clients and community about six months ago. From that point on, she committed fully to every part of the journey—weekly dance lessons, refining choreography, selecting costumes, and sharing her story with anyone willing to listen. Since then, we’ve heard from literally hundreds of you.

While many participants rely on a few large donors, Lena’s support came from across the board—more than 250 individuals who chose to take part. When that many people raise their hands to participate in something you’re championing, it’s no longer just about raising money. It becomes a true community impact.

This past Saturday evening, Lena finally took the stage—and absolutely crushed it on the dance floor. She brought incredible energy and had the loudest cheering section in the ballroom. The pride, excitement, and support were unforgettable. She earned the second-runner-up trophy, reflecting the meaningful impact she had in raising critical funds in the fight against Alzheimer’s.

I am so proud of Lena, and so proud of BFG for supporting her—giving her the space to pursue this goal, bring it to life, and showing up to celebrate her on the big day. And while we don’t plan to have any BFGers on the dance floor next year, we do plan to continue supporting the Alzheimer’s Association® for years to come.

Lastly, to all of you: the depth of support you showed was truly profound. So many of you came together in such a meaningful way, and it is hard to fully capture what that generosity represents. This was more than fundraising—it was a shared act of purpose, hope, and humanity. We are deeply grateful.
